Your Truth

Having a voice. Being heard. Be careful what you speak but also speak the truth for you owe it to your readers, to your listeners, to your self. Controversial topics shouldn’t be avoided but rather exploited to give your truth and attract in response the people who REALLY respect you and your values. Being a blogger is about that. Speaking up your truth. No matter the costs, the consequences. It makes you all the more authentic. It makes you are the more interesting. You are here to challenge mindsets and opinions and make things progress. Open discussion, instead of avoiding it. Of course it is hard, of course it takes time to open up but that is what bravery is all about. So, what is YOUR truth?

Personally, I am a Christian, pretty conservative but I hate to be called stuck up. I live my religion but I am not just a goody goody. I just have a set of values I stand by. I live a lot on traditions and respecting my elders. And I like to disagree with a lot of commonly accepted concepts especially the ones coming from the left. As I said I like myself a good animated debate ๐Ÿ˜‰ I believe in God and I believe in the way He created us and that our lives are not ours but rather that there is something greater than us that we are here to achieve. I also believe He created us equal so we already are equal by nature. There are a lot of things that we do not see, that we do not understand but sometimes we just have to have faith that everything will be alright in the end and keep a positive smile towards life. So in the mean time kick some ass. This is me standing up for what I believe in.

Have a fab day everyone,

and don’t forget to be amazing.

EMPOWERED

Ps: This post might create a lot of backlash but hey we are all here to learn and inspire each other ๐Ÿ˜‰ so go ahead and be creative in the comments!

  1. Cool. It is great to have a platform to speak our truth – blogging is wonderful! I was following a blog that had great posts and thousands of followers but something seemed off – so I investigated and found plagiarism! I couldn’t believe that someone would use this platform to plagiarize!! I am naive – but really? Anyway – I wrote a post on it!! Made me feel better anyway! Thanks for sharing yourself!! Donna

    1. Thanks Donna for sharing!! Indeed why have a platform if you can’t express yourself freely? I will definitely try to share my opinion more on topics and speak what I believe in! Looking forward to reading more from you ๐Ÿ˜‰ Lovely day to you!

  2. I was born and baptized as Catholic but Iโ€™m not really religious and I donโ€™t follow everything Catholics are taught to do. Just like you, I follow a set of values and standards. I believe in God. No doubt about that. But I am open to reading or listening to other religions or to everything that contradicts His existence. I am even a fan of atheists like Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Speaking your truth is a powerful thing. It is others’ right to disagree but when you are speaking from an authentic place, all people benefit. It takes a lot of courage, but it is always the right thing to do. I am from the liberal side myself, but I very much enjoy the themes you write about. Keep on keeping on. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Beautiful post. And believing in God doesn’t make you anything negative like “stuck-up” “Naive” or “uptight”, it makes you human and hopeful.

I really love your blog, every time you post, I have a smile on!

    1. Thank you so much for this beautiful comment!! You are so right it shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing but I feel like the new generations have kind of lost some of those values ( or was it always like that?) .. it is up to us to spread them again! I am very pleased to have the honour of making you smile! A lovely day to you!!๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

  5. This post has really brightened my day. I went from feeling lost and gloomy due to a partcular situation.. to realising that I need to stand my ground and own my truth.
Also I need to start getting into blogging more. Itโ€™s therapeutic and I love being immersed in that creative side of myself โ€“ Issue being, I second-guess myself too much.

    Respect is everything
Thanks for this lovely post ๐Ÿ˜Š

  6. I can related myself to this. I too believe in god but I don’t like following all the rituals they expect me to perform. No religion is “all good” and “right” in their context. So I take things, ask the real logic behind them and then follow them.
It’s always a pleasure reading your posts. I get to learn a lot from your posts. Thanks.

  8. Great and empowering post. I like when you said, “Being a blogger is about that. Speaking up your truth. No matter the costs, the consequences. It makes you all the more authentic. Because we live in such a fallen world, we are told that we are to “conform” to the standards of this world, but as we know in Romans 12:1-2; that we are called to not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. As a Christian blogger, we should never be afraid to talk on controversial topics that we feel affect us as Christians.

  9. You are awesome, because of your solid framework. Those who base their lives on a code of relativism, with no absolutes, whatsoever, are not really being flexible. Things which hurt a human being are just plain wrong.

  11. This is a lovely post about staying true to yourself in life and through our blogging words. Thanks for the follow and I hope you donโ€™t mind that someone from โ€œthe leftโ€ follows you. Iโ€™d like to think we are all one in the same, all human, all Godโ€™s children, but with opposing viewpoints. I hope to learn something by reading your viewpoint from time to time.

  12. I have faith in God. That’s what keeps me going no matter what. I strongly believe that if we move one step forward to our dream overcoming whatever the milestones may be, god will help us to move ten steps forward. God doesn’t specially gift us strength but God is the one who reminds us of our true strength…

  13. Such a good post!!! I think this is something I’ve truly struggled with for fear of being deemed overly Christian or too open, but God can’t use us if we’re closed off. God’s been showing me how to write about these controversial topics, and the conversations that have resulted have been amazing!

  14. Some good thoughts. Without truth, what do we as individuals or a collective have? I see you are now following my retiredanddownunda blog. Thanks for that. This blog is full and details our 2014/15 trip to New Zealand and Australia, so there will be no new posts. You are certainly welcome to read the back posts. If you are interested, my current blog is at https://photoblographysite.wordpress.com/. Thanks for reading. Allan
